Vetskill is a private awarding body based in Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom that specialises exclusively in accrediting education and training programmes that support those working in animal welfare and the veterinary profession.

We are keen to promote training at sufficiently high standards that will contribute towards the improvement of animal welfare on an international basis through education and training. It is well known that ignorance combined with a lack of welfare and animal care skills causes significant suffering to animals.  Most people do not set out to be cruel to animals.

Vetskill’s programmes are not accredited by the Qualification Curriculum Authority (QCA) nor the Qualification Assurance Authority (QAA) as these are national bodies of the government of the United Kingdom and whose activities are focused on meeting the wider educational strategies of the British government.

Vetskill’s standards, as a minimum, will match and in most cases will exceed those that the United Kingdom requires for its nationally accredited programmes.  In addition Vetskill programmes must meet our own rigorous standards that ensure consistent quality and be able to evidence a positive contribution towards animal welfare.

Educational establishments such as College’s and recognised training providers that Vetskill considers to be of suitable reputation may apply for Vetskill accreditation for programmes and courses provided they are of sufficient quality to meet Vetskill’s standards.

Any course or programme carrying the Vetskill logo may be considered by potential applicants to be of academic quality.
